China Prepares Hypersonic Plane, Shanghai - New York 2 Hours

China does not want to be left behind in the competition with other super powers to make hypersonic aircraft. Later, flights from Shanghai to New York, just 2 hours with this kind of plane.

Reporting from CNN, Tuesday (5/4/2022) is a Space Transportation company or Lingkong Tianxing which is developing this aircraft in China. They were determined to build a passenger plane with a speed of 1.6 km/s, almost twice the speed of the legendary supersonic Concorde.

They have published an animated video on their official website showing passengers without special flight suits being able to board a 12-seater plane. The aircraft will be propelled by 2 booster rockets.

In the concept of Space Transportation, their plane will be launched vertically into the sky. Once it reaches the specified cruising altitude, it will detach from its booster rocket and fly at a speed of 7,000 km/hour.

This plane will land at its destination vertically with the help of a kind of tripod. Space Transportation targets the first flight test launch to be carried out in 2025.

They set a target to be fully operational flying hypersonic aircraft by 2030. This will also be part of suborbital space tourism.

This plan is a manifestation of China's ambition to target the business potential of space tourism and also hypersonic aircraft for business people. Investment support also looks tempting.

Matrix Partners China and the Chinese government-owned Shanghai Guosheng Group are known to have poured 300 million yuan in August 2021.
