Elon Musk loves to talk about fantastic things, including about the future. Most recently, the leader of SpaceX and Tesla believes that in the end, humans can live forever. How to?
Elon Musk's version of forever living doesn't mean that humans will continue to be in their condition, but that they can download their brains to robots.
"I think it's possible. Yes, we can download things that we believe make ourselves very unique," said the South African-born man, as quoted by us from CNBC.
"Now, of course, you're not in your body anymore. Of course it will make a difference, but regarding preserving our memory, our personality, I think we can do it," he believes.
Thus, gadgets will truly become like human extensions. "Our memories are stored on our computers and phones with pictures and videos," said Elon Musk.
"Computers and cell phones will amplify our ability to communicate, allowing us to do things that we consider magical. We have actually amplified our human brains massively with computers," he said.
Right now, of course, Elon Musk's words are still only a theory. Indeed Musk is very keen to try to connect humans with computers. In fact, Neuralink, his brain chip startup, is one step away from starting human clinical trials. They have a job opening for the clinical trial director position who will lead the ambitious project.
Since its launch in 2017, Neuralink has demonstrated brain implants in pigs and monkeys, including experiments on an ape that was able to play the game Pong using only its mind. If it has been implanted in the human brain, Elon Musk said this chip could help paralyzed people control cellphones with their brains and even walk again.
