Samsung Reportedly Will Release Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Version

Samsung has so far launched the Galaxy Watch line in two variants. But for this year, Samsung will reportedly add a new variant with Pro frills.

This rumor comes from SamMobile citing an unnamed source. They claim that Samsung will release three variants of the Galaxy Watch 5 this year, with the latest variant possibly being named Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Not much information is known about this mysterious smartwatch. But a SamMobile source says the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will carry a jumbo battery with a capacity of 572 mAh.

This claim about battery capacity has been confirmed through a certification that appeared on the South Korean regulator website. Other information that is known about the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is the code, namely SM-R925.

If these rumors are accurate, then the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will bring a sizeable improvement in terms of battery life. When the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic launched last year, one of the things that people complained about the most was the battery that didn't last long.

The largest variant of the Galaxy Watch 4 comes with a battery with a capacity of 361 mAh. This means that the battery capacity on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has increased by almost 60% compared to the previous generation, as quoted from SamMobile, Sunday (10/4/2022).

But the question now is how big the body of this smartwatch is to accommodate the bigger battery. Currently, the largest Galaxy Watch 4 variant is the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic with a diameter of 46 mm and a 361 mAh battery.

SamMobile sources say the presence of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has not been fully confirmed. There is a possibility that Samsung will cancel this device, especially since the launch of the Galaxy Watch 5 series is getting closer.
