Facebook Stops Support Asking Friends For Help For Account Verification

A two-factor authentication system is an account authentication system for more secure security on an account that requires a login with a username and password. It comes with confirmation via SMS, an application that displays a code or even with a physical key.

On social media platforms, there is verification support through friends such as on WeChat or Facebook. If a user forgets their password or loses access to the account, they can ask a friend on the platform for verification assistance.

In a notification on the Facebook app on iOS today, Facebook informed that support for account verification through friends will be discontinued. This may be because this method is arguably outdated and your trusted friends may have stopped using Facebook.

Facebook recommends users update their email addresses and phone numbers for more secure authentication use.
