Intel Launches Alder Lake HX Processing Chip Series - Laptop CPUs With Desktop Class Chip Performance

Intel today launched the Intel Alder Lake HX series of processing chips, which are a series of laptop CPUs with the performance and functions of a desktop computer chip, including support for new technologies such as DDR5 and even PCIe 5.0.

This CPU series consists of seven models, two of which are CPUs from the Intel Core i9 series, three of which are Intel Core i7 series CPUs, and the other two are from the Intel Core i5 CPU series. These two Intel Core i9 HX CPUs have eight P cores and eight E cores.

Two of the Intel Core i7 CPU series have the same number of cores, while the third model has a total of 6 P cores and 8 E cores. For the Intel Core i5 model, one model comes with a total of 4 P cores and 8 E cores, while the model both come with 4 P cores and 4 E cores.

In terms of memory support, all of these processing chips support both the new DDR4 and DDR5 memory, including DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200 and LPDDR4-4267. For those who need it, a number of Z690 CPU and motherboard models for this laptop are also seen to support ECC memory which reduces the issue of corrupted data in memory transfers that are typically required by computers used by creative professionals.

While all of these processing chips come with a built-in memory overwrite feature, two of these CPUs, namely the Intel Core i9-12900HX and Intel Core i7-12800HX come with a manual overwrite function in case you need greater performance on your laptop. .

More importantly, this CPU is seen to have support for the addition of an additional Thunderbolt 4 controller, which allows even more Thunderbolt 4 accessories to be installed on this laptop.

The presence of PCIe 5.0 x16 support also allows laptops that use this CPU to add support for two additional PCIe 4.0 SSDs, apart from one slot that will be connected directly to the CPU where all can be used at full data read and write speeds.

Intel’s preliminary tests showed that the performance of the Intel Alder Lake HX single-thread and multi-thread processing chips was 17 percent and 64 percent compared to the previous 11th-generation Intel processing chip series.

Intel says that around 10 gaming laptops will be launched by various brands like ASUS, GIGABYTE, Lenovo, MSI and so on soon, and these gaming laptops will show very powerful performance when combined with other powerful components.
