Tokopedia's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Melissa Siska Juminto was one of those who succeeded in being included in The Most Extraordinary Women Business Leaders 2022 from SWA. Apart from Melissa, several other female company leaders who also received this award were Deputy President Director of Bank Mandiri Alexandra Askandar, Danone Indonesia CEO Connie Ang, Consumer Service Director of PT Telkom Indonesia FM Venusiana, and PT XL Axiata President Director & CEO Dian Siswarini.
In this award, the Tokopedia boss won a total score of 89.38. Melissa won the second highest score out of 18 candidates for Most Extraordinary Women Business Leaders 2022. The highest score was achieved by the President Director of PT Prodia Widyahusada Dewi Mulyati with a total of 89.81.
What prompted Melissa to win the award were the various innovations that were given to her company. In the midst of the pandemic storm, as a COO, Melissa tries to launch various initiatives that help local MSMEs rise during the pandemic through online marketing. In addition to encouraging various external challenges, he also overcomes various internal issues that pay attention to the side of Tokopedia employees (Nakama).
Like when the COVID-19 case peaked in Indonesia, Tokopedia took the path of implementing work from home on more than 6,000 Nakama. However, not only maintaining physical health but also holding several programs to maintain the mental health of the Nakama. The Nakama Wellbeing platform is provided so that Nakama can consult a psychologist to increase motivation. Not only that, there is also a Work Fun Home program, so as to provide a more enjoyable working experience from home. Several series of Work Fun Home activities are held routinely virtual including Nakama Got Talent, Nakama Smart Carefully, Positive Talks, and Nakama eSport Competition.
"With this initiative, we hope that Nakama can have a more enjoyable and productive working experience from home by prioritizing each other's health. There are 3 stages that need to be passed during the selection process. The first stage is to select a list of candidates through desk research with criteria including what are the breakthrough steps that have a significant impact on the company, then whether the company being led carries out good corporate governance (GCG) and upholds aspects of business sustainability. In the second stage, the candidates conduct a written interview. Finally, in the third stage, the jury's assessment was carried out.
