There were many new features announced during the Google I/O event that took place early yesterday morning. Less given less attention this year is the Wear OS with more focus given to the yet -to -be -launched Pixel Watch hardware.
For users of the Wear OS ecosystem, Google will say that the Emergency SOS feature will finally be introduced by the end of the year. Users can make emergency calls quickly to immediate family members or directly to security agencies when needed directly from the wrist.
This will eventually put the Wear OS on par with the features that WatcOS and Tizen have offered before. The hours that will be given support and how it will work in the future are not disclosed at this time.
