Have you ever been called by an unknown or suspicious number? Maybe some of you are still confused about what to do when you get a spam call.
Launching the official Kaspersky website, here are five ways to reduce the risk of being scammed when you get a spam robocall. Try implementing it.
1. Turn off immediately
The less or less you are connected, the better. Because, if you speak or react, this call will be marked 'live' and you can be targeted more often. Better yet ignored.
2. Avoid the word 'yes'
Don't answer with 'yes' or 'yes'. Sometimes robocalls or scammers trick you with the question 'Hello, can you hear me?' or 'Hello, can you hear me?'. They can then save that record of your confirmation and use it for fraudulent activity. So avoid saying yes whenever possible.
3. Never follow robocall instructions
Sometimes people are tricked by being asked to press a button, for example 'press button 1 to unsubscribe' and so on. If you follow, you can be marked as a potential victim.
4. Report a call
You can report this suspicious call to the authorities. You can also help the police to trace the fraudster's number.
5. Stay alert
The impact of a robocall can be large or small. At most they could get your credit card number. Be careful by checking the number that goes into the call, it's as simple as Googling.
