FCC Commissioner Wants TikTok Removed From Google Play Store And Apple App Store

Is TikTok harmful to consumers in the United States? For Brendan Carr who is one of the FCC commissioners in the United States the answer is yes because Bytedance staff - the company that owns Tiktok - in China accessed user data from the United States until January this year. User data from the United States was only transferred to Oracle -owned servers in the United States this month.

Carr believes Bytedance can access a wide range of consumer information in the United States that could jeopardize their security and national security. He therefore urged the Google Play Store and Apple App Store to remove TikTok to prevent users from continuing to download this application.

This is the same reason Donald Trump used to ban TikTok a few years ago. After President Joe Biden took over, this ban order was repealed.
