The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was targeted by Russian troops with their combat vehicles in the early days of the war. But one of them thanks to the services of this drone expert teenager, the Russian troop can be restrained and Kyiv survived.
The 15-year-old teenager was named Andrii Pokrasa. He is good at flying drones and using them to monitor the movement of Russian troops, send photos to the Ukrainian military and pinpoint the coordinates of the location of Russian artillery.
As quoted by us from the New York Post, he is also considered a hero. "He is a real hero, a Ukrainian hero. He is the only one experienced with drones in that area," said Yurii Kasjanov, commander in Ukraine's drone force.
The Ukrainian military has indeed approached civilians who could operate drones to monitor Russian troops. Pokrasa said that they were approached by them while looking for the coordinates of the Russian troops.
"They provided us with information about where the Russian troops were. Our goal was to find the exact coordination and send it to them," Andrii said.
"It was seen that they were the largest troop moving on the streets of the Zhtomyr area and we were able to find them because one truck had its lights on for a very long time," he said.
In fact, the teenager had recently bought a drone, but he quickly became adept at using it. On the other hand, he is also sad that Russian soldiers died after their troops were shot by Ukraine thanks to his information.
"I am very happy, but there are people there. They are invaders, but they are still human," he said.
The Ukrainian military provided him with a long-range drone so he could more freely observe the target. Currently, Andrii is in Poland with his mother and is continuing his education there.
