Joy Con Nintendo Switch Can Be Used on iPhone, It's Fun!

After support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers, now iOS devices also support Nintendo Switch controllers, namely Joy Con and Pro Controller.

Of course, the support here is simply support for connecting the controller of the portable console via Bluetooth, not physically attaching the Joy Con to the iPhone.

The support that will be present in iOS 16 allows Joy Con to function as a controller for iPhone, both in single mode (only one Joy Con is used, left or right), also when the left and right Joy Con are combined.

This was discovered by an application developer named Riles on the @rileystut account. "iOS 16 supports Nintendo Switch Pro Controller natively!" Riles chirped.

This was later confirmed by an Apple engineer named Nat Brown, who said iOS 16 users could connect two Joy Con controllers and switch between using one and two by pressing and holding the Capture and Home buttons on the Joy Con.

Currently, iOS 16 can be tested by iPhone users, but it is still in the beta developer stage. That is, maybe iOS 16 still has bugs or problems in its various features. Including the problem that occurs when switching between single Joy Con to dual mode, as reported by a number of users.

iOS 16 was showcased to the public at WWDC 2022 complete with various new features. However, there is also information regarding support for older generation iPhones that are no longer provided, namely for iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and the first generation iPhone SE. So to be able to try out iOS 16, users must at least use an iPhone 8.
