MIT Researchers Want To Use Sunscreen In Outer Space To Reduce Global Warming

The hot temperatures over the past month have left many unable to sleep well and starting to get sick due to hub strokes. This is just a preview of the world that will get warmer due to global climate change. The recommended solution is to plant more trees and reduce the burning of fossil fuels. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the answer to the future problem of human civilization is to put a “space bubble”.

MIT researchers want to build a shield from sunlight placed in outer space between the earth and the sun. This round -shaped protector is constructed using millions of bubbles made of a thin film material. This space bubble can block 1.8% of solar radiation while solving the ongoing issue of global warming.

One issue here is that this shield is the size of the country of Brazil and needs to be placed at the L1-Lagrangian point where the gravitational pull of the earth and the sun is balanced allowing this sun shield to remain in its position at all times.
