Plastic Particles Identified In Snow In Antarctica For The First Time

Before this, we were ready to see plastic particles found in the human lungs. Apart from that, now a study also found that plastic particles were also found in the snow in Antarctica that was collected in 2019.

The discovery of these plastic particles is of great concern because of their impact on the environment, and constrain a number of development and life. It also shows that plastic pollution is very worrying in recent times.

On melted snow, an average of 29 plastic particles are found for every liter of snow. This also shows a relatively high rate compared to ice in the ocean.

The most common particle found is Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), which is used on plastic bottles as well as clothing.
