Sony yesterday launched their first gaming monitor in the Inzone series. Sony offers two models, the Inzone M9 and the Inzone M3. This monitor is not under the PlayStation brand, but it uses a design similar to the PlayStation 5 and can be used together well.
Both monitors are also designed with a design that saves space on the desk, so that users can use various types of keyboards or giant-sized mouse pads with ease. Each monitor can also be adjusted in height and viewing angle for the comfort of different users.
Inzone M9
The Inzone M9 is their flagship monitor that supports 4K resolution with a 27-inch LCD panel that supports DisplayHDR 600, DCI-P3 95%, promises darker blacks, as well as Full Array Local Dimming. It also supports 144Hz high refresh rate, NVIDIA G-SYNC and most importantly HDMI 2.1 VRR. The back of the monitor also has LED lights to give light and identity to a gaming product.
This monitor is suitable for use on gaming computers or new generation consoles such as PS5 with Auto HDR Tone Mapping support and can switch between game mode and streaming mode if the user switches between applications.
The Sony Inzone M9 also supports a response time of 1ms GtG and also has Auto KVM for accessories such as a keyboard can be used between two devices with a direct connection to the monitor. This also means that each connection port can function as a USB hub, there are 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x USB-C that can connect a laptop or MacBook with 50W charging support.
The selling price of Sony Inzone M9 is $ 899.99 which is around RM3960.
Inzone M3
Overall the Inzone M3 monitor has the same specifications as the Inzone M9, but the screen resolution is only 1080p. It also does not support Full Array Local Dimming, but the high refresh rate is raised to 240Hz. The display is limited to the DisplayHDR 400 and it is more focused on support for computers because it does not support the PS5 Auto HDR Tone Mapping mode. The Inzone M3 also doesn’t have LED lights on the back of the monitor.
The selling price of Sony Inzone M3 is $ 529.99 which is around RM2332.
Each of these monitors also comes with Inzone Hub software to give users more control, compared to the built -in controls on the monitor. It allows users to set their own gaming profile, control other accessories and control a variety of additional settings to suit their individual needs. There is still no announcement on whether this monitor will penetrate the local market.
