Telegram Premium has finally been released after its presence was announced by CEO Pavel Durov recently. Telegram users can register for this subscription service by paying USD 4.99 per month.
The presence of this premium service also coincides with Telegram's new achievement which already has 700 million monthly active users. Telegram is also the first messaging platform to launch a premium service, beating WhatsApp, Signal, Facebook Messenger, and others.
With the presence of the Premium service, Telegram emphasizes that the features that are currently available can still be accessed for free by all users. But users who want to get special features and additional benefits can register for Telegram Premium.
By paying the subscription fee, Telegram Premium subscribers can send files with a larger size limit of 4GB (up from the standard 2GB) and experience faster downloads.
Customers also get double the limit for certain features. For example, being able to join 1,000 channels, being able to create 20 chat folders containing 200 chats each, saving 400 GIFs, pinning the top 10 chats, and adding four Telegram accounts.
There's also an exclusive text conversion feature that converts audio messages to text, and a chat management tool that lets users change the default chat folder. Not to forget, subscription to Telegram Premium will also eliminate advertising messages on public channels.
Some of the other benefits include access to a selection of premium stickers, exclusive emoji reactions, animated profile photos, and a longer bio with a link, as quoted from The Verge, Monday (20/6/2022).
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov previously said the features currently available for free will not change for users, and the new premium features will not change the user experience when using Telegram.
This means that non-subscribed Telegram users can still download large files submitted by subscribers, and view the premium emojis or reactions they use.
Durov also promised not to stop developing new features for free users. This promise was immediately fulfilled as Telegram announced several new features for all its users, namely displaying verification badges in chats, activating requests to join public groups, and several other improvements.
