Twitter Tests New Look of Community Features

Twitter announced it was testing two ways for its users to engage with its community service. They bring new tabs 'For You and 'Latest'

Twitter says its Community feature is designed to help users find other individuals who share similar interests and provide a comfortable space to participate in the conversations that are most relevant to them.

"With this new test, we're making it easier for people to personalize their Community timelines and follow the conversations they're most interested in," Twitter said.

Twitter explains that from now on the settings that everyone chooses will become the new defaults each time they visit the Twitter Community. The settings are unique, which means they can be changed at any time and each Community has its own.

Twitter already offers the same experience in its main feed. With this change in Communities, Twitter wants to give users the option to stay up-to-date on what's happening and see the most relevant and interesting conversations within their groups.

For users who are part of this test, they will see that this timeline can be changed in the upper right corner of each Community, just like in the Twitter Home timeline. This small-scale test is rolling out to only a few users on iPhone, Android and Web devices.

Since introducing Communities, Twitter has brought several new features to it, such as the ability for admins to embed their Community Tweets, search within communities, mod/admin member removal, and member search.

a new way to view your Communities timeline: sort Tweets by For you (most relevant to you) or Latest (most recent)—the choice is yours!
