Since Nothing started showcasing their Phone (1) back panel design a few days ago, various questions have arisen as to whether it’s just an interesting gimmick or actually more useful than expected. Through the video that has been uploaded by MKBHD, the answer to this question is that it actually has a variety of interesting uses.
Thousands of LED lights are placed on the back panel with one surrounding the camera hump, one surrounding the wireless charging pad, one near the charger port and another on the top right corner.
In the MKBHD video, the battery charging level can be seen on the light near the charger port. It will increase little by little to see how much the battery has been charged. The light on the wireless charger comes on when it charges another device such as earphones. All lights can also be turned on simultaneously to be a light source when taking videos or photos. It can also be used as a flashlight.
The flicker of the lights can also be changed by the owner himself with Nothing providing 10 ringtones complete with different rear panel light flashes. Finally there is another red LED light that illuminates when video recording is done.
Nothing Phone (1) will only be launched next July but all the initial insights that have been shared to the web arena confirm it is among the most unique smartphones ever produced so far.
