WhastApp Share Temporary Message Tips, Don't Cheat!

WhatsApp sends Status to users containing Temporary Message tips. Useful enough, but don't cheat!

"Some messages don't have to be saved forever. Now you can send Temporary Messages to all private chats on WhatsApp," WhatsApp wrote in its status.

WhatsApp includes a link that users can access to learn more about the Temporary Messages feature. Explained Temporary messages is an optional feature that users can enable for more privacy.

When enabling Temporary Messages, users can set messages to disappear within 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days after they are sent. This setting will not affect messages sent or received in chats before the Temporary Messages feature was turned on.

In individual chats, each party can turn the messaging feature on or off temporarily. In a group chat, all group participants can turn the messaging feature on or off temporarily. However, admins can change group settings so that only admins can turn the messaging feature on or off temporarily.

If the user does not open WhatsApp for a period of 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days, the message will disappear from the chat. However, the message preview may still be shown in the notification until WhatsApp is opened.

When the user replies to a message, the original message is quoted. If the user replies to a Temporary Message, the quoted message may remain in the chat after the selected duration.

If a temporary message is forwarded to a chat that turns off the temporary message feature, the message will not be lost in the forwarded chat. When a user creates a backup before a message is lost, a Temporary Message is included in the backup. Temporary messages will be deleted when the user restores from a backup.
