Crazy! The combination of Samsung, Oppo and Xiaomi can't even overtake Apple

Apple continues to dominate the global premium mobile market. Even the combined market share of Samsung, Oppo and Xiaomi has not been able to overtake the tech giant created by Steve Jobs.

Counterpoint research results show that Apple's market share in mobile phones priced above USD 400 reached 62% in Q1 2022. This figure increased from 57% in Q1 2021.

The increase is thanks to the incessant promotion of the iPhone 13 which has made this phone the best-selling phone in the world since October 2021.

Samsung is second on the list. However, its market share declined due to the delay in launching the Galaxy S22 series compared to last year's S21 series.

Counterpoint Research said "The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a success thanks to the excellent combination of the S and Note series".

Oppo is in third position with 5% market share, up from fourth position the previous year with 4% market share. Xiaomi has risen in rank from five to fourth, but its market share is still the same, which is 4%.

Huawei is the brand that experienced a huge decline from 9% to 3% in just one year.

Previously, Counterpoint Research revealed that Apple continues to lead the list of best-selling mobile phones in the world. Based on April data, Apple's HP occupies 4 of the top 5 positions.

In total, there are 10 smartphone models which account for 21% of worldwide sales. The iPhone 13 remains the world's best-selling smartphone, accounting for 5.5% of total mobile phone retail sales in April.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max version came in second with 3.4% of total sales. While the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 12 are also in the top 4 positions, both have sales of 1.8% and 1.6%, respectively. While the iPhone SE (2022) holds the seventh position.

Counterpoint also revealed that iPhone 12 sales were driven by increased sales in Japan and India. While the iPhone SE 2022 posted triple-digit monthly growth, it was again driven by Japan which accounted for 18% of smartphone sales in April.
