After 17 Years Together, Nokia And Zeiss Contracts Now End

Nokia is one of the smartphone brands that are quite famous for their cameras once upon a time. This is because they partnered with Zeiss to use camera technology both in the lens and also in the software.

The collaboration between these two brands is one of the longest lasting in the smartphone industry. The first device was the Nokia N90 and after 17 years, HMD Global confirmed that Nokia's contract with Zeiss has ended.

This makes the Nokia XR20 device the last smartphone with Zeiss technology. HMD Global did not reveal why they did not continue this collaboration, but according to speculation it was to reduce costs. Soon there will be no more Nokia smartphones that use this Zeiss sensor and it is not certain whether there will be cooperation with other imaging brands or not.

The Zeiss brand is now used by Vivo which uses sensor and lens technology for devices such as the Vivo X60, X70 and X80. On Vivo devices, they focus on using a unique portrait mode.

With this collaboration between Nokia and Zeiss over, how do you feel about it? Have you ever used a Nokia device with Zeiss and will you miss it?
