Electricity Supply Now Fully Restored – TNB Shares What Happened

This afternoon, there was a power outage, affecting users in a number of locations, especially in the Klang Valley. Now, after several hours of disruption, Tenaga Nasional has confirmed that the electricity supply has been fully restored since 3.02 this afternoon.

Commenting further on it, TNB said the supply disruption occurred at around 12.39pm, caused by a fault in one of the equipment at the Main Entrance Substation (PMU) Yong Peng North, in Yong Peng, Johor.

This has resulted in a load loss of 2.2GW which is 10% of the entire supply demand in Peninsular Malaysia.

Because of that, a temporary outage occurred, and TNB has managed to gradually restore the supply outage as early as 20 minutes after the outage occurred.

Before this, there was a power outage in 1986 due to tripping over the power transmission line. In addition, in 1996, disturbances also occurred throughout Malaysia due to damage at the power station in Paka, Terengganu.
