Since the outbreak of the pandemic two years ago, digital skills are seen as increasingly important in navigating the future. This is coupled with economic opportunities for anyone who is skilled in the digital field.
Today Google Malaysia announced the Gemilang program, which is a free Google Career certification program for 31,000 participants. Participants only need to go through the registration process through collaboration partners including higher education institutions, associations, or corporate companies including Celcom Axiata, Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Women in Tech, Malaysia Digital Association and many more.
Through this funding, 31,000 participants will undergo online training to learn and discover career opportunities in 6 fields, including Data Analytics, Technology Support, IT Automation, project management, UX Design as well as marketing and digital business. All of these trainings are also included through the Coursera platform and will provide participants with a skill certificate upon completion of the training program.
Then, participants who have received this Google certificate can apply for jobs at companies registered with the Google Gemilangan program including Astro Awani, Rev Media, Maybank, McDonalds, Petronas, The Lorry, Storehub, Carsome and many more. The list of companies that provide job opportunities will be updated from time to time.
