Japan is one of the most developed and busiest countries in the world. Not surprising, because Japan has a population that is diligent, disciplined, and very hard working. However, did you know that Japan is not actually a country that bears the title of being the most workaholic country?
Yup, it turns out that Japan is not the country with the most workaholic population, but Singapore. According to a study, Singapore is the most tired country in the world. The reason is that many people in Singapore are sleep deprived and their energy is exhausted because they work too long and spend time consuming information on the Internet.
Singapore is the country with the most workaholic population
Reporting from Channel News Asia, a survey conducted by Sleepseeker, a company that manufactures beds from the UK, Singapore is the most tired country in the world. This is because the lives of its citizens are very busy.
Quoted from CNBC Indonesia, the "fatigue score" from the range of 1-10 assigned to each country is obtained from a number of data, such as Statista (average hours of sleep recommended in each country); Wikipedia (average number of hours worked in each country per year); and BusinessFibre.co.uk (amount of daily internet time logged by people in different countries). The fourth data source is Google Keyword Planner, which tracks the number of sleep-related search terms in each country.
When viewed from the number of hours worked, Singaporeans are quite workaholic. On average, they work 2,238 hours per year. Longer than the Chinese and Japanese who are known for their workaholic culture.
