Niantic Who Produces Pokemon Go Cancels Four Projects And Lays Off Employees

Niantic, the company that developed Pokemon Go, Harry Potter Wizard United and Ingress reportedly canceled four projects as well as having laid off up to 8% of employees according to a Bloomberg report.

Up to 90 employees have been laid off in a move to optimize the company’s operations. Canceled games are Transformers Heavy Metal, Hamlet, Blue Sky and Snowball. The pandemic caused Niantic the same problems as other companies.

Although the above four projects have been canceled, Niantic will continue to provide support to Pokemon Go and continue the game project with the newly announced NBA a few days ago. Previously Harry Potter Wizard United was discontinued after the number of players dwindled.
