After months of messing with the presence of Nothing Phone (1), the device was finally officially launched tonight. It is the first smartphone from Nothing, a new company from the former founder of OnePlus - Carl Pei. The Hype Nothing Phone (1) is quite terrible, with a unique LED Glyph system, transparent design and demand through StockX that reaches tens of thousands of Ringgit.
Nothing Phone (1) is a premium middle class device, it is no longer a secret because since before the launch again this class of devices is already known.
The device comes with a 6.55 ″ OLED screen with 120Hz high refresh rate support. The screen resolution is FHD+ with an evenly thin bezel design and a hole in the top center for a selfie camera. The processing chip used is a Snapdragon 778G+, with memory up to 12GB of RAM and internal storage reaching 256GB UFS 3.1.
The main camera is a combination of a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and a 16MP Samsung JN1, with a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie camera. The selfie camera also supports face -based unlocking with technology by ArcSoft. Nothing Phone (1) also comes with stereo speakers tuned by Dirac.
Nothing Phone (1) runs the Nothing OS (1) operating system built on Android 12. With the use of the Snapdragon 778G+chip, Android 14 is the last version supported by this chip.
Nothing OS (1) also supports first mode, its own DND system and has a Glyph LED system. This LED has 6 zones namely battery, brightness 1 and 2, both camera and on USB port. The Glyph system allows the lighting of each of these lights to be modified according to the user’s wishes such as for phone calls, music, Google Assistant, charging and notifications having different lighting patterns. Music can also change the pattern of the lights on according to the rhythm.
Nothing Phone (1) will come with a 4500mAh capacity battery with 33W charging power. With a thin box, Nothing Phone (1) will not have a charger plug in the box. But a transparent protective frame is provided for basic protection.
The device is offered with two color options namely black or white. The selling price of this device starts at RM2399 in Malaysia for the 8GB RAM model, and RM2699 for the 12GB RAM model. Nothing has not given an official sale date in Malaysia at this time.
