We recently reported that the Indonesian government has started using a new law where all online platforms must be registered to obtain a PSE permit to remain operating in the country.
Recently, it has been reported that a number of very popular international online platforms have had their access blocked in Indonesia, including PayPal, Reddit, Steam, Epic Games among others.
Even so, interestingly there are still some platforms that are still not registered such as GMail, Google Classroom, GitHub, Facebook Messenger, Waze, CloudFlare, Microsoft Azure and so on, but are not listed as blocked access.
Interestingly, it is also seen that platforms such as GMail, Google Drive, Facebook Messenger and Instagram still need to register as different services even though their parent company has already registered for the PSE permit.
This information is obtained from the Kominfo'd website, an online service listing website that shows the accessibility status of these popular platforms which takes the information from the Kominfo Indonesia website and is updated every hour.
So far, there seems to be a lot of talk on social media about how popular digital gaming platforms such as Steam, Epic Games, Battlenet and Origin are currently inaccessible in the country.
