Samsung Patents Hexa2pixel Trademark For 450MP Camera

Samsung has already released a 200MP sensor this year and it will be used in the Motorola X30 Pro phone. Although the size of the sensor is large, with Tetra2pixel technology 16 pixels are combined into one and the image size will shrink to only 50MP. This week a trademark for Hexa2pixel was filed by Samsung sparking speculation they are developing a larger camera sensor?

How big? If Tetra2pixel combines 16 pixels into one, Hexa2pixel will combine 36 pixels into one. Therefore, a 450MP sensor may be being developed by Samsung and it will be launched in the near future. To use a giant sensor, a powerful processor and fast memory are required. Perhaps this is Samsung's way of bringing sharper camera features and better night performance in the future.
