Samsung today announced that they have successfully released the first chip using 3nm production technology using the Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor architecture. This in turn makes them the first in the world to start 3nm production on a large scale beating TSMC which will also be releasing their 3nm chips this year.
According to Samsung with 3nm technology, a reduction in power consumption of up to 45%, an increase in performance of up to 23% at the same power and a 16% smaller physical size can be enjoyed compared to 5nm. But through the next 3nm technique, the power reduction will increase to 50%, the power reduction of 30% and the size reduction of 35% will be possible.
