Remote controls that lock or open car doors first came into use in 1982 on a Renault Fuego. It is now a standard feature on purchased cars because of its ease of work. At Tesla, this 40 -year -old feature will no longer be given to buyers of their home -made cars.
Since July 1, Tesla Model S and Model X cars are no longer present with a transmitter that automatically unlocks the car when it detects a nearby owner. This is as close as possible to Tesla to a physical key.
For users who still want to use it, they have to pay $ 175 (~ RM776). According to Tesla, the move was taken after finding that the majority of customers no longer use physical keys but prefer to use digital keys on smartphones.
