Astro is already in the direction of streaming, compared to before which still uses the satellite system. Astro TV boxes now require an Internet connection to work, just like other TV boxes. The operating system on their TV box also uses an interface that is easier to use than Astro's previous system.
But, it is still not perfect and there are many shortcomings until today. Astro Ultra Box and Astro Ulti Box TV boxes have already been updated with support for creating five different profiles. Each of these profiles can have different content recommendations according to users based on their usage patterns and interests.
In addition, Astro also added a Continue Watching list for users to continue watching content that has not been finished watching. No more problems having to watch from the beginning or having to fast forward to continue watching. In addition, users can also create a wish list and mark favorite content to watch later.
Astro also includes Netflix-like features, such as displaying thumbnails when speeding up videos and a better search system to make content easier to find. Speaking of Netflix, content displayed on Astro's home screen can now directly launch the Netflix app when pressed.
For users who have small children at home, Astro also introduced a profile for children that will suggest content friendly to them such as local animation. These features will also be offered to Astro Go users for easier use and in sync with the TV box.
This update is said to be distributed to all users in stages and not all will be able to use it simultaneously. Look forward to updates on your Astro TV box and also updates to the Astro Go app.
