Because Steam is Blocked, PUBG Can't Be Played Even though It's PSE Registered

The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has officially blocked several popular gamer favorite sites, namely Steam, Epic Games, and Origin. As a result, PUBG: Battlegrounds cannot be played, even though it has been registered with the Electronic System Operator (PSE).

It is known, that the game made by Krafton, visited fans of the First Person Shooter (FPS) game on several platforms, such as Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia, and also including Steam. Kominfo's decision to close access to Valve's platform, resulted in the PC version of PUBG being unable to be played by the audience.

PUBG also already knew this, and gave an official statement on social media, based on the results of our monitoring, Sunday (31/7/2022). It's just that they are still trying and have not been able to provide encouraging news to fans.

"Sorry to all, at this time if anyone can't login due to Steam blocking. Please wait, later we will share an update on this as soon as possible," said PUBG: Battlegrounds.

Besides PUBG: Battlegrounds, there is one more game that has been listed on the PSE, but cannot be played, namely Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombie. The reason is similar, because this game also released it on Steam.

The news of the blocking has actually been announced a few days by Kominfo. In fact, they have sent an Electronic System (SE) letter, to immediately register themselves no later than July 29, 2022, at 23:59.

For the initial stage, Kominfo is targeting 100 digital platforms with the highest traffic in Indonesia. However, from the specified number, it is known that there are eight who are still absent until they are subject to blocking sanctions.

Well, they are Steam, Dota2, Counter-Strike, Epic Games, Origin.com, Xandr.com, Yahoo internet search engine, and Paypal. However, after we tried the eight PSEs, Xandr.com and Yahoo internet search engines, can be accessed either through mobile or laptop.

The blocking of this gamer's favorite platform immediately attracted the attention of gamers in Indonesia. Then in just a few hours, names like Epic Games, Steam, Origin, and Kominfo echoed on Twitter and entered the Trending Topic list.

A little information, this Private Scope PSE Registration has been mandated by Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019 concerning Electronic System and Transaction Operators, as well as Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation Number 5 of 2020 concerning Private Scope Electronic System Operators (PSE).
