Every time Apple announces a new operating system or software, many people can't wait to use it. But for the initial stage, only developers are allowed to try so that they can test the application that is being developed.
The general trial version will only be offered a little later. To install beta versions such as iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS or audioOS, users need to install the Beta Profile on the device to receive updates. This profile however requires a developer account where a fee is charged.
Only the general beta Profile is free. But some are irresponsible to get this developer Profile access and distribute it to the public for free. Among the popular websites is BetaProfiles.com. Recently they have announced on Twitter that their website will stop operating because they do not want to be prosecuted by Apple. This indicates that they have already been warned by Apple.
At the time this article was written, the BetaProfiles site was no longer accessible. Apart from them, another popular website is IPSW.dev which is also no longer accessible. The website seen to still be active is Apple Firmwares, not sure if they are brave or haven't received Apple's warning yet. But a report from MacRumors says Apple's legal team has contacted Twitter to remove any tweets that include links to these Beta Profile download sites.
In the future, those who want to try beta versions of iOS and other Apple operating systems will have to wait for the public version to be distributed.
