Oppo has now announced a new Android-based launcher update for their smartphones with the introduction of ColorOS 13. As can be seen, the interface has been redesigned and the existing system has also been improved for better overall usability.
ColorOS 13 offers a brand new interface design known as Aquamorphic Design along with a more organized layout. It is minimalist with elements inspired from the environment and is very similar to the previous version. However, icons have larger size dimensions along with cheerful and bright color elements for a fun visual experience.
The selection of colors is also said to be able to give a clearer appearance of the interface. Next, the new update also features an improved font arrangement to deliver a simple and comfortable visual experience. All features and functions also appear more organized and classified according to content type. Next, the support of files that can be enlarged is also supported as well as helping to speed up the process of opening the application.
ColorOS 13 also features a new concept with more options for personal settings. For example, the Always-On-Display (AOD) function is now better with several new features such as the ability to control several applications when the screen is closed - for example Spotify music player and food ordering applications.
In addition, there is also a setting with an animal and nature-based animated series called Homeland that also features current changes. Next, Smart Always-On Display in collaboration with Bitmoji that allows users to create 3D avatars based on daily activities on the home screen.
Dynamic Computing Engine support was also introduced bringing two major improvements to ColorOS 13 – these include increased battery life and the ability to keep more apps open in the background.
Then, there is also a feature called Multi-Screen Connect which is considered a continuation of the previous PC Connect. Through it, it provides quick access for smooth collaboration between smartphones and laptops/tablets. At the same time, users can also control both devices from one screen.
ColorOS 13 also receives enhanced security protection. There is a feature called Auto Pixelate to blur important information on screen screenshots. Next, the Private Safe function built with the AES Algorithm (Advanced Encryption Standard) is also widely used on private files. Not only that, Android 13 features are also integrated on this new launcher for comprehensive protection.
For example, the system will automatically delete the clipboard history (clipboard, where copy & paste is stored) to protect confidential information used for authorization on certain resources. In addition, the Nearby Wi-Fi function allows applications to connect to nearby devices via Wi-Fi without requiring location permission.
Another new update that is also included is the Meeting Assistant which is a very useful feature for smooth and effective online meeting implementation. So far, Oppo Find X5 and Find X5 Pro are among the first devices to support it.
In the meantime, Oppo has also launched a developer version of ColorOS based on Android 13 Beta and continues to work with Google to build a smooth Android ecosystem.
