DEGO Ride, one of the taxi-motorcycle service providers in the Klang Valley, is now asking the government to allow it to operate legally, as well as allow the service to be widely marketed.
For now, DEGO Ride is still operating in the Klang Valley, but on a limited basis. This is because many people do not want to participate in DEGO Ride as a rider, for fear that the service will be banned.
Previously, the service had been banned. However, the government did a pilot test for 6 months - but DEGO Ride is seen to be still operating today.
Speaking further, DEGO Ride said that by offering taxi-motorcycles, it is able to reduce the level of road congestion in Kuala Lumpur.
The government previously said there were no plans to allow taxi-motorcycles in Malaysia, due to several aspects, including the safety and welfare of passengers.a
