The throne of the world's largest streaming platform has now passed to Disney after it announced it had 221.1 million subscribers in its latest financial report published yesterday. They easily overtake Netflix which only has 220.7 million paying subscribers.

However, this figure is not for the Disney+ platform alone, but also includes several of Disney's milio streaming platforms, including ESPN and Hulu.

The majority of the more than 14 million new customers last quarter resided outside the North American market. The number of new subscribers exceeded the target of 10 million set in the previous quarter. Simultaneously with this announcement, Disney+ subscription prices will be increased in the United States starting December 2022.

The monthly subscription price is $10.99 compared to $7.99 previously. At the same time an ad-supported subscription is now offered for $7.99 per month.

it is not yet known whether users in Malaysia will be affected by the price increase or not, considering that we are under Hotstar.
