Nothing Phone (1) is undeniably a pretty good premium mid-range device. It has a unique Glyph lighting system, runs the smooth Nothing OS and has a beautiful design and quality screen.
On the Nothing Phone website (1), Nothing lists their device's OLED screen as supporting a brightness of up to 1200 nits. But the German technology site Computer Base tested the screen of this device and only received a maximum brightness of 700 nits.
Nothing is aware of this problem, where they promote the screen of their device can reach a high level of brightness but in reality it is not as they claim. According to Nothing, the screen panel used which is OLED from Visionox supports up to 1200 nits. But the software limits to 700 nits to save battery and reduce device heating problem.
Nothing also said that they will monitor user feedback, where if many want high brightness support this update will be distributed. In our tests, the screen brightness of this device was sufficient for a mid-range device and we did not experience any serious issues with the device's screen.
Nothing Phone (1) is sold in Malaysia at a price of RM2,399 for 8/256 GB and RM2,699 for 12/256 GB.
