Now You Just Need To Press The Space Bar To Activate The Microphone In Google Meet

When you use teleconferencing software, one of the tedious things to do is to mute and unmute your microphone to speak or make sure your voice is not heard in the meeting.

Google has recently started introducing push to talk functionality for their Google Meet teleconferencing software. The microphone will be muted by default and to activate it, the user just needs to press the spacebar the whole time they are talking, where the microphone will be muted again when it is released.

Google says that this function will be quite useful for those who prefer to leave their microphones in an inactive state, and only activate them when they need to speak. This function is seen to help those who may forget to mute their microphone.

The feature will be rolled out starting today for Google Workspace customers, and will be rolled out gradually to personal Google account owners over the next few weeks.
