One UI 5.0 Beta Can Be Tasted, Here's a List of Samsung's HPs that got

Good news for Samsung HP users who have been waiting for the One UI 5.0 update based on Android 13. Samsung has started releasing the beta version of One UI 5.0 to the public and some phones can already taste it.

One UI 5.0 beta is currently rolling out in Germany, the United States, and South Korea and will be released in other countries in the next few months. This update can already be tasted by users of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Samsung gave a little sneak peek of the new features that will be coming to One UI 5.0, such as broader theme personalization, changing the language for each app, a dashboard to view the device's security status, and more.

Although currently only available in Germany, the One UI 5.0 beta program will soon be expanded to other countries. Samsung is conducting a public beta trial via the Samsung Members app, so Galaxy device users can directly check the beta schedule by opening the app and going to the 'Notice' section.

So what about Samsung users who have phones other than the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra? Don't worry, here's a complete list of Samsung phones and tablets that will get One UI 5.0/Android 13, as quoted from SamMobile, Sunday (7/8/2022).

Last month tipster Max Weinbach shared a leak of a series of new features and appearance changes that will be present in One UI 5.0, namely:

New notification center

The notification design has been slightly changed with the size of the app icon in the notification made larger and the background slightly darker.

Access permission dialog

The pop-up menu that asks for access permissions in One UI 5.0 is also shifted to the center of the screen, following the view on the pure version of Android 13. Previously this dialog was placed at the bottom of the screen in One UI 4.0.

Optical Character Recognition

Samsung also added the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature in One UI 5.0. With this feature, the Gallery app can now recognize text in photos so they can be easily copied and shared.

An OCR feature was also added to the Samsung Keyboard, which means users can copy text from camera feeds or photos and add them to email or SMS.

New multitasking gesture

In the Labs section, Samsung added two new gestures, namely swipe for multitasking with split screen and swipe for pop-up display. Samsung has also improved the speed and smoothness of animations and transitions.

New privacy and security center

Samsung has also improved the design of the Security and Privacy Hub. This security center will be the place to access all security and privacy-related features such as lock screen options, user accounts, Find My Mobile, application security, Google Play system updates, and more.
