Oppo is rolling out ColorOS 13 globally. The interface, which is based on the Android 13 operating system, brings a series of new features. Anything?
ColorOS 13 adopts many of the basic features of Android 13, including privacy and security features as well as a richer level of customization in the style of Material You design. This interface also provides many new features to support the productivity of its users.
In terms of design, Oppo revealed that ColorOS 13 uses an Aquamorphic Design inspired by the water element so that many of its updates are focused on providing a more seamless and natural experience.
The icons on the homescreen are now updated to reflect the new color scheme with stronger contrast and a rounded design. Still on the homescreen, the application shortcut folder is now made larger and users can view, swipe, and open applications directly from within a large folder without the need to open a folder.
The control center in ColorOS 13 has also been made more intuitive, for example with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth buttons now more accessible. Media controls are also brought to the control center and allow users to switch between different device outputs while playing music.
The always-on display (AoD) feature in ColorOS 13 is also updated so that users can access information more easily. For example, users can control the music playing on Spotify even when the screen is off. Oppo is also teaming up with Snapchat to bring Bitmoji to AoD ColorOS 13.
As Oppo's product ecosystem expands, ColorOS 13 also brings new features that make it easier to connect between phones and tablets. With the new Multi Screen Connect feature, users can easily switch between Oppo phones and tablets and copy and paste content between tablets and phones without having to send text documents or use data.
Oppo claims to have developed the latest technological innovations that can make ColorOS 13 extend cell phone battery life. "We have a dynamic computing engine that can increase performance and battery life at the same time," said Head of Oppo Software Product Gary Chen.
ColorOS 13 also brings a variety of new security and privacy features, while still integrating the basic privacy features found in Android 13. One of them is a feature that can automatically censor avatars and sensitive information in chats.
Oppo says the first phones that will get the ColorOS 13 update are the Oppo Find X5, Find X5 Pro, and Find N. This Chinese vendor plans to update 35 phone models by the end of 2022.
