Siri Can Announce Notifications On Any Speaker With iOS 16

Google Assistant has long supported the feature of announcing user device notifications if the device is connected to a smart speaker or audio accessory that already supports it. In fact, Google Assistant can also read the notification and ask the user if they want to reply.

For iPhone users, Siri can also announce notifications. But it's a pity that it's limited to Apple's smart speakers only, i.e. HomePod and HomePod Mini or via AirPods.

Latest with iOS 16, Siri can now announce notifications on any speaker and is no longer limited to HomePod. This feature can be activated through the Announce Notifications on Speaker accessibility settings.

It should be noted that this feature will also read received notifications. If you regularly receive iMessage or WhatsApp with sensitive or private content, you should not use this feature unless you live alone.
