The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is now warning the public, to be careful and alert to SMS from ID "GOV" using the name MySejahtera, saying special financial assistance has been credited to the Touch n Go eWallet account.
SKMM says the "GOV" sender ID has been misused by irresponsible parties, by manipulating the ID for fraudulent purposes.
Usually, the "GOV" sender ID is reserved for making public service orders related to government initiatives - and by manipulating the use of that ID, it makes people easily fooled by it.
SKMM's partnership comes after the same warning issued by the Police and MySejahtera before. The SKMM also said that it has blocked access to fake links that were spread via SMS.
