Twitter Patches Vulnerability That Leads to 5.4 Million User Account Data Leaked

Twitter confirmed that there was a vulnerability in their system that caused the data of 5.4 million users to be leaked until it was sold on the black market. This vulnerability was discovered in January 2022 but was patched in June 2022.

With the leaked data confirmed to be true by Twitter, they will now contact every affected user. Among the leaked information was the user's email and phone number, but Twitter said passwords were still secure. Platform users are advised to activate two-factor authentication (2FA) to keep their accounts more secure.
