12VHPWR Power Cable Adapter Comes With 30 Unplug And Plug Life

With the launch of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 series of graphics cards, brands that develop power supplies for computers have started offering 12VHPWR power adapter cables that can be used together with graphics cards that use the new PCIe 5.0 power plug.

However, recently it has been reported that these adapters do not have a very long lifespan. According to the marketing text from ZOTAC, it is found that this adapter can only be plugged and unplugged around 30 times before it becomes unusable.

This is shown by NVIDIA itself which is also said to have found that this adapter will face issues such as overheating, melting and burning after being plugged in and unplugged around 40 times.

This adapter will not have any problems if it is only installed once, but for those who always change graphics cards or want to overclock different graphics cards, this one cable is seen to be damaged at a fairly fast rate.

At least it appears that every NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 graphics card that will be sold will come with this adapter, so users may not have to worry about that. But it is still something that needs to be taken into account because it can still be a dangerous issue for users.
