Intel Will End Pentium And Celeron Brands In 2023

Intel has now stated that they will no longer use the Pentium and Celeron branding, but instead will call both under a new brand, which is Intel Processor.

This change will be done in stages, starting in 2023 for the laptop category.

Previously, the Intel Pentium brand was introduced in 1993. At that time, it became the branding for flagship chips, and was known by the use of numbers, such as Pentium I, Pentium II and so on. However, after many years, it was replaced by a more powerful flagship chip brand under the name Intel Core.

Around 2006, the Intel Pentium brand was used for mid-power chips. While Intel Celeron has since the beginning focused on offering more competitively priced computers with basic specifications.

With this new branding, Intel Processor chips will focus on offering mid and low specification computers.

While Intel Core, Intel Evo and Intel vPro brands will focus on their flagship brands.
