Sony PlayStation 5 has just received an updated model to be lighter than the previous two models. This is done by changing the design of the console's GPU and CPU coolers. So far also only the model with Bluray disc drive and another digital version are sold. But now there are rumors that the next PS5 model, a removable version of the disc drive will also be sold.
This was reported by the site Insider Gaming citing internal sources. With this new model, Sony will keep the same components but the Bluray disc drive is removable with it being connected to the USB-C port on the back of the console. This way owners of the digital version can buy a disc drive in the future if they want to change their mind.
At this time the existing PS5 cannot buy any Bluray disc drive to connect to the digital version of the console. With this new version Sony only has to produce one model and those who still want a physical drive will be bundled with it included once in the box.
