Microsoft will hold a launch event for their latest Surface devices on October 12, where they are expected to show devices such as Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5.
Recently it seems that the specification options for these two devices have been leaked to the web arena, as reported by WinFuture. In terms of design, this Surface Pro 9 device does not look so different from previous models, where the external frame still uses magnesium-aluminum alloy.
It comes with a 13-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 2880×1920 with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by a choice of Intel Core i7-1265U and Intel Core i5-1245U processing chips or an option with vPro if you buy the business version.
It also comes with 8GB and 16GB LPDDR4X memory options and 128GB up to 1TB storage depending on the model purchased. The business model is seen with options up to 512GB.
Just like the Surface Pro 8 before, the Surface Pro 9 is also seen to come with two USB Type-C plugs, where both of these plugs are also Thunderbolt 4 plugs. Microsoft is also seen to maintain the Surface Connect plug for the purpose of charging the device.
Specifications for the Surface Laptop 5 have also been leaked, where it comes with a 13.5 and 15-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 2256×1504 and 2496×1664.
The Surface Laptop 5 is also reported to be powered by the same Intel Alder Lake processing chip option as what is offered on the Surface Pro 9. The memory option is also increased with the addition of a 32GB option while the storage option remains the same as the Surface Pro 9.
As previously mentioned, the Surface Pro 9 will come with an ARM processing chip option, and with it support for 5G networks as well.
Perhaps even more interesting is that the Surface Pro 9 is seen with new color options such as Platinum, Graphite, Forest, and Sapphire. As said before, Microsoft will introduce the devices at this October 12 event.
