Tencent is now seen to restructure their takeover and stake purchase strategy, where now the company from China plans to focus more on getting a majority stake in overseas video game companies.
It is different from before where Tencent is only willing to get a minority stake. With this latest move, Tencent is seen to be more aggressive in adding more to their portfolio, including being able to control the companies that are taken over.
In addition to focusing on video games, Tencent also wants to acquire a number of assets at the global level, including focusing on the metacity.
In addition to Tencent, various companies are also looking at acquiring various companies and firms focused on video games - including Microsoft, Sony, Amazon, and even Netflix.
