In addition to the MBT AbramsX concept design, General Dynamics Land Systems also showed concepts for two variants of the new Stryker infantry fighting vehicle. The StrykerX Technology Demonstrator is a new generation armored car concept that comes with an electric hybrid engine system, an active defense system, a 360-degree camera and gives the driver the ability to see through armor using an AR headset.
The hybrid engine system not only reduces the consumption of diesel fuel but also allows it to operate silently so that it is difficult to be detected by the enemy. Communication systems and networks are also strengthened to prevent cyber attacks. Because the driver uses an AR headset, the StrykerX does not have a windshield like the current Stryker armored cars.
Next is the Stryker Leonidas Technology Demonstrator which puts the Epirus Leonidas anti-drone system on the back. Leonidas uses microwaves to disable the drone. What makes Leonidas unique is that it can be used to take down individual drones without taking down other drones that might be used by security personnel and the mode disables a group of drones simultaneously.
The conflict in Ukraine proved that small bomb-equipped drones can cause massive damage to infantry because they are difficult to detect. Static anti-drone defense systems using lasers and microwave rifles are insufficient to deal with mass drone attacks.
