Last year, Qualcomm bought chip developer Nuvia for RM5.6 billion. This acquisition allows Qualcomm to continue their plans to develop chips to rival Apple Silicon.
In a report by The Information, Google reportedly intended to buy Nuvia before Qualcomm to further strengthen their Tensor chip development. But there are no other details as to why they are not Nuvia buyers.
Nuvia is a chip company made up of former Google employees and Apple engineers involved with the development of the Apple M1 chip.
The chip that Nuvia has developed and completed when it was taken over by Qualcomm is the Qualcomm Oryon CPU which is said to power PCs before being used in smartphones and for digital cockpits or driver assistance systems for electric cars. Let's all look forward to the development of Qualcomm and Nuvia.
