Mobile Data Use Will Be Allowed During Flights Within the EU Next Year

When you travel on an airplane, you will usually be asked to turn off the cellular functions of your devices, or activate airplane mode to ensure that they do not cause problems with the airplane's radio equipment.

Recently, the BBC has reported that the European Union may allow the use of in-flight cellular services in their airspace as early as next year. This is seen to be possible because the 5G network is seen to not have any adverse effect on the radio frequencies used by aircraft equipment.

The European Union is also expected to ask member countries to open up 5G frequencies to allow airplane passengers to use the 5G network to connect to the internet without problems.

Just like everywhere else around the world, the 5G network is still in its early stages where not many users have devices that can take advantage of this network.

But with the launch of new devices, it should become more common throughout the end of this year and into the early and middle of next year.
